Beyond LASIK

Not every patient is a candidate for laser vision correction — very thin corneas, a high refractive error or certain corneal conditions can rule it out. For these patients, we offer alternative refractive procedures that achieve the same goal: freedom from glasses and contact lenses.

ICL — Implantable Collamer Lens

An ICL is a soft, biocompatible lens placed permanently inside the eye, in front of the natural lens, to correct short-sightedness, long-sightedness or astigmatism without removing or reshaping any corneal tissue. It's often the preferred option for higher prescriptions or thinner corneas, and unlike laser correction, it can be removed if ever needed.

Refractive lens exchange

Refractive lens exchange follows the same principle as cataract surgery — replacing the eye's natural lens with an intraocular lens (IOL) chosen for your prescription — but performed before a cataract has developed, purely to correct refractive error.
